WARM HEARTH MEMORIES (Week 12 Theme : Summer)
WARM HEARTH MEMORIES (Week 12 Theme : Summer)
The hot days of summer have arrived to scald our skin
The bright sun and dry air are beacons to all souls like anything
Gone are the days of pullovers and hot coffees – they’ve all gone on a spin.
Ours is a tropical country; so the summer season allows all our work to begin.
Sweat trickles down human bodies when the latter are engaged in toil,
Parched earth soaks up much needed water so as to form a worthy soil.
Bodies emitting odor which the likes of evergreen creation of Conan Doyle
Cannot soothe, for we enjoy summer heat curling up within a cool coil.
When the first drop of rain falls upon the dry earth,
We know that happiness isn’t far from our dear hearth,
Summer rain is reason enough for fun and cumulative mirth,
Summer is the longest season in our land, despite all to broaden girth.
Cool cottons and handwoven fabrics are our favorites
The long-past winter memories form glaring and healthy opposites
Many regard summer as the season to forego all decencies,
We are all gastronomes; hence we cannot spare summer to savor delicacies.
