Walking with the Scars
Walking with the Scars
Deep within me are wounds,
As haunting as death itself.
Time, I thought, would heal them,
But they deepen with every breath.
Words pierce like daggers,
Curses weigh me down.
I try to find where I went wrong,
Yet the answer evades my frown.
Each soul walks its own path,
With burdens only they know.
What’s right for me feels wrong to you,
And so, we struggle to grow.
Empathy seems out of reach,
For your scars are yours alone.
And mine, like shadows on weary days,
Stay etched in skin and bone.
So, I tread my lane in silence,
With the weight of scars and pain.
A plea whispers in the winds—
Think before you speak to me again.
With every scar, I learn to rise.
My journey continues, my spirit defies.
Though the scars remain, I walk stronger,
For pain cannot break what endures longer.
