To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill A Mockingbird
It is a novel by the American author Harper Lee,
It was published in 1960 and was very successful.
In the US, it is widely read in high schools and middle schools,
Has become a classic of modern American literature after its release.
The plot and characters are based on Lee's observations of her family,
An event had occurred when she was of ten years only.
An event had occurred near her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama, in 1936,
She picturised in the novel and won the Pulitzer Prize.
Mockingbirds don't eat up people's gardens,
They don't nest in corncribs,
Mockingbirds sing their hearts out for us,
That's why,
It's a sin to kill a mockingbird and it is a sin to kill a mockingbird.
I quote from the novel
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it."
~ Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
