The Strike

The Strike

1 min

The growth of all kinds of

Industries after the industrial

Revolution also gave birth

To the equally large working community

Suffered a lot at the hands

Of money monger entrepreneurs,

Many low wages, no time limits,

Worst working and living conditions

The incarnations of the union leaders

Appeared on the toiling fields,

They demanded higher wages,

Threatened owners went on strikes,

Their unity was crumbled

With the help of rulers

Satisfying them with purses

The rules regulations, laws

Improved labors conditions

But unions became strong

Demanded more and more

Frequent strikes, often closure

Of even big units, made several

Hundred jobless, loss of business

Was enormous, but leaders flourished

1982 mill worker strike

Lasted for one and a half years,

Many mills were closed, shifted

Thousands of workers lost jobs

However induction of contract

System in all industries, sectors,

Gave a setback to the strike

Trade and commerce breathed free
