The Story of Death

The Story of Death

2 mins

Some see you as a hundred unspoken words,

that could have set a caged bird free.

A throbbing star in the night sky glowing bright,

or a burning pyre’s desperate plea.

Some see you as a million verses of an unfinished poetry,

or an unheard tale that ended before it could begin.

Painted in a thousand colors of a painter’s brush,

lost amidst the shades of an Artist’s unfulfilled dream.

Some see you as the light at the end of a dark tunnel,

or the stifled wails of an unborn light.

A battle cry to glorious victory,

or the unheard sobs of a mother’s plight.

Some see you as a question that never found its way to their lips,

or an answer that was never sought.

A vaguely familiar tune of a long-forgotten song,

one that brings back memories of moments forever lost.

They see you through a thousand scattered fragments,

of the broken glass of reality.

Through a million pairs of eyes,

Through a myriad of emotions, sailing through Time.

But right now, I see you, my beloved, resting blissfully on my lap,

with your eyes shut in an eternal dream of faith.

And I see myself in you, my friend,

For I am Life and I write your story, the story of Death.
