The Shield of His Endearment
The Shield of His Endearment
The Shield of His Endearment
The sugar coated castle my father built for me
My sunflower days of childhood and adolescent,
Beckoning all light that could pervade luminosity in my life
And in his canopy of warmth and assurance all sunshine was prevalent.
But irony of fate had its strategy
For his span of life was getting delicate
Like quiescent autumnal clouds gliding in aimless transition
His emaciated days were trailing to some uncouth estate.
I still recall his summon, asking me to mature before season
But l stood sequestered on the arid strand missing his raining love
And life to lead for a reason.
Life itself is a wonder, where every step is entwined with enigma,
To proffer the mysteries in its trove, is our true charisma.
Our entity emanates from flesh and blood and in onus it deflagrates
When life meets with eventide, in ashes its episodes dissipates.
