The Seashore...

White sand in which sea-shells lie,

The vast ocean beyond a blue mirror of the sky,

Along the shore spreads out a host,

Of green palms continuous as the coast,

The sea-breeze whistles it's own song,

To which the palms sway along,

Far at the horizon sails flutter high,

Bravely the sea-winds they defy,

Where fishermen cast out their net,

Hoping to return with their catch at sunset,

No sound except the joyous laughter,

Of children playing in water,

And with them laugh the tumbling waves,

As the seawalk they embrace,

With dusk, the water's blue,

Turns crimson as the drowning sun's hue,

A throng of birds soars through the sky,

Up above is heard a sea-gull's cry,

The sea turns dark in the starry night,

The moon bestows it's silver light,

In which the waves float in lazy motion,

No longer is seen the end of the ocean,

For hours I could sit and watch this show,

The rhythm of the waves that come and go,

Each hour of the day it bears a new grace,

I could never tire of gazing at the sea-face!
