The Sadness Mask
The Sadness Mask
We wear the mask of sadness,
Until realizing that it is utter madness.
We keep a smile on our face,
Even after knowing that it is fake.
We talk to someone running in our head,
Not knowing that we are half dead.
We weep inside every night,
And pretend that everything is fine.
We ignore the truth in front of us,
And then we make a great fuss.
We strive for happiness in others,
Not realizing that no one bothers.
We respect the ones who put us down,
Until knowing that our self-respect is drowned.
We strive to be better each day,
But we restrict ourselves anyway.
So stop making yourself a fool,
Because somewhere even you know that sadness is not cool.
When being happy with ourselves is the easiest task,
Then why are we wearing this sadness mask?
