The Proposal
The Proposal

At the beach,
During an aesthetic sunset
We stood hand in hand
And he turned to me,
He gazed into my eyes
Then kissed me on my forehead,
I skipped a breath
When he got down on one knee.
My heart was pounding
And eyes were teary.
The sky became vibrant
And happy was the sea,
After a lot of stammer and
With a bit of hesitation,
I asked him if it was a dream
Or had he truly asked me The Question,
Then he held my hand, opened a box and
Revealed the Ring.
I could hear me squeak
As I replied with a Yes
And the tears trickled down my cheeks.
