The lnnocent Lad
The lnnocent Lad
Such lazy is the afternoon or lazy I am?
Have I really no work to do or thoughtless I am?
I saw the ant a while ago not piddling away,
Busy at work below the hefty sack of hay.
I saw the little sparrow whetting its beak,
Alert to skim down on the little grain peak.
I saw the butterfly relaxing with wings shut,
Closely I observed it was licking the nut.
Was I the only one frittering my time?
Was I the one committing a crime?
I pondered and pondered but little did I fathom,
My little brain I thought was set in boredom.
Dizzy I felt I gaped and yawned
Comfortably I slept until called on.
