The Last Cigarette
The Last Cigarette
Before I crumble up that empty packet of cigarettes
Let me smell it all, One last time
There are few burnt, buried stubs still left in there
Sleeping peacefully in loose tobacco, ashes,
And debris of unapologetic moments and thoughts
This is my last cigarette
It smells even more intense while it is steadily dying in between my fingers
Leaving a trail of strong nicotine in my blood
Before I put you off
Let me breathe you, let me have you in me the way I have never had
Your toxicity, your bitter taste is still left in my mouth
Before I bury you in millions of unwanted and trashy crowds
Let me kiss you for good
I shall free you from every attachment
I will make sure you never miss me as one looks for her soul
Don’t worry I’ll be fine
I can smell your presence around those perfect dark corners of life
If you think it’s all about a cigarette
I bet you have never known how you feel to be in love!
