The Air

The air,

Near the toddler,

Fresh and clear,

Happy and full of cheer,

Innocent and without a least care.

The air,

Near the school of nurture,

Candied, with mischief fleer,

Exciting and full of dare,

Elated and without a fear.

The air,

Near an aged pair,

Contended and sober,

Crippled and spend with ware,

Exhausted and without any glimmer.

The air,

Near the pyre,

Silent and somber,

Gloomy and full of austere,

Pathetic and without a desire.
