Promise Unfulfilled
Promise Unfulfilled
Lying in my arms one afternoon, with eyes wide open,
"Would you care for me, forever", she said with a voice half broken,
I could see pearls of tears, under her wide pretty eyes,
And went on staring, Oh the afternoon breeze was feeling so nice,
"What happened, say something", her annoyance was so cute,
That I wanted to say yes but chose to stay mute,
Because I knew, I won't last, I am a guest for a very short time,
My soul will escape from earth, my body up for medical paradigm,
So I stayed silent, giving her an impression so rude,
With the hope of meeting afterlife, in our beloved solitude.
