On A Rainy Day
On A Rainy Day
I was standing near the mortuary.
A lightning committed suicide,
Hanging itself from a large branch
Of the mango tree nearby.
The rain took it to the mortuary,
Thunder followed.
Meanwhile, I was standing near the mortuary.
I saw the soul of the lightning,
A silvery ball of mass,
Hitting the walls of the building nearby,
And inviting souls of the deceased
To join company.
The rain broke into a heart rending dirge.
Thunder pleaded no postmortem.
Its my fault, it rumbled,
I always kept her waiting.
I was standing near the mortuary,
I was hit by a lighting,
Died and charred beyond recognition
Thunder took me in.
No autopsy.
