MY TEENAGE FEELINGS

MY TEENAGE FEELINGS

2 mins

Riding in the school bus was an adventure

Looking through the glass I developed a love for Mother Nature.

Had dreams of telepathy,

Sharing with the kindergarten children empathy.

Was under the strict scanner of teachers and parents

Missed no examinations and had full attendance.

Forced a meal down my stomach,

My mother and father were worried about the clothes I did select.

Dared to dream and beyond

I had wings but was gentle and kind.

I knew more freedom then

But always choose to spend my time in the den.

Hoped for a better world,

Felt peace in my mother’s hold.

Wanted to achieve great heights,

And derived satisfaction in creating fights.

Enjoyed talks with my best friend

and going out was a trend.

Had to climb buses and worry about lizards

Had no mobile or laptop.

Thank God my teenage days are over

Now I have been blessed as a woman,

And have welcomed the new sunshine.

And do not count my days as I grow older

As I see through the looking glass

everything was indeed the opposite,

For I know that life holds promises and has no defeats.

Living life like laid from ashes to stardust

I know my teenage days were made of wanderlust.

As I can never remove the flowers from my garden,

My teenage life was never a burden.

I have learnt and grown in the same shade

Far from the madding crowd past my dreams as I wade,

There is always a silver lining in the cloud,

Know that the sailing ship can never sink,

Be happy and be bold.

Go break the glass ceiling and dare to dream

For it is only the beginning.
