GANESH CHATURTHI
GANESH CHATURTHI
Far from the madding crowd
An awakening inside me
As I ask for help
A form of life,
The body of a man-child.
The head of an Elephant.
Art thou a child?
Or a proper God?
A child to a Teacher...!
When was the universe born?
Or is it scorn?
That you provide...
The symbol of life.
A creator of mankind.
The fathomless universe in your stride,
Ten out of nine.
The capacity to dine.
And the moon laughs
The likes of a snake twine,
Around that belly fine.
A mother pointing
At the ubiquitous crow...
A thrust of water,
And now this miracle.....
Of our Lord drinking milk.
Maybe a Man-Made contribution
The worshippers making room.
Or God come down on Earth,
The people to their doom.
But the end of an era
The Story of the Solar Eclipse making news.
Or the children behaving like goons.
The Festival of Ganesha is in full bloom.
Flowers, lamps and rain......
Halt! Who goes there?
The Eco-Friendly Ganesha...
Due to climatic change.
Or due to the threat of Covid-19
The likes of a game.
As chants and mantras reign.
Given the blessings of God,
Paradise Regained.
O Lord thou art great...
Inside and outside that makes
An idol to be submerged.
Gifts and charity that roll.
Our beliefs and our goals.
A Leap of Faith
As we look back in anger
Our deeds are half bad. Half human.
To save the sailing ship from sinking
To live life like laid
And into the waters, we wade.
And let out a sigh......
To wish you the last Goodbye!
Ganapati Bappa Morya.....!
On the splendid days of Ganesh Chaturthi
It is this, It is this...
I stand still
Admiring the will.....
A Paradise lost yet to be regained
An incarnation of God
Joy, Joy, Joy doth fill.....!
