My Identity

My Identity

Every day you see me,

Sometimes at the railway station,

Sometimes at the bus station,

Sometimes hanging in the local train,

Trying hard not to pull the chain.

Sometimes I am your friend,

Sometimes a mere stranger,

But you don't treat me,

Just like a mere stranger.

We speak of the weather,

We share the same seat every day,

We share the same route every day,

From Church gate to Byculla the entire way.

I am the person sharing the rickshaw,

I am the one sharing my thoughts,

My dreams and my aspirations,

Every day, every day with you.

Can you Now Guess My Identity!!!!!!!

Yes, I am the Middle Class,

Hanging midway in all classes,

With my dreams and my aspirations,

Hoping for a better morrow.

I am the Middle Class,

With morality the only virtue,

I don't share with others,

The upper class doesn't care for it,

The lower can't afford it.

I am the Middle Class,

Burdened with the taxes,

Burdened with the relief funds,

Burdened with the loans,

Burdened with the installments.

But still hoping for a better morrow,

'Cause "Achhe din ayenge",

When, how I don't know,

But " Achhe don ayenge".

(Good days will come)
