Mirage
Mirage
In the desert's scorching heat,
A vision shimmers and I retreat,
A distant sight that I can't reach,
A deceiving trick that the sand can teach.
The image dances and twists,
It beckons me with a tempting kiss,
A cool oasis, tranquil and serene,
But a mirage, a figment, a desert dream.
I walk towards the illusion,
With hope and desperation's fusion,
But the sand beneath my feet shifts,
And the mirage fades, leaving me adrift.
A cruel trick of nature's hand,
In this barren and desolate land,
A tease that leaves me parched and dry,
As the mirage fades and dies.
But still I walk, with faith and trust,
Through the desert's heat and dust,
For one day, a true oasis I will find,
And leave the mirage far behind.
