Mind Your Tongue
Mind Your Tongue

Words can do miracles
It chases you right from your birth
The tongue is powerful, it's true!
It is taught to tame and use with care
Spiteful words ruin a life
And gentle words heal and bless
Observed careless words stir up strife
And tender words ease distress
I've watched silence speak out loud
Louder words seem no one hears
An idle chatter becomes notorious
And hasty words end in grief.
Some people eat their words
Timely words persuade a crowd
Words of wisdom look for a
conversion
Keywords and emojis talk today’s generation
Words to show off your attitude
Who can't seem to hold their tongue;
Either they take the shame it affords
Or later might prove everyone wrong
My tongue too can go astray
Every day is not a happening day
So, dear Lord, help me touch those words
That tickle in my mind before I roar
Whatever I speak, whatever I say
Words that do not ruin my self-respect
I am remembered with admiration
A tongue that spoke with power and care
