Mere Punishment
Mere Punishment
You posit
me in third grade,
you turn down
to become my demure
significant other,
You don't like to exhume
the memories
of the past.
Where you floundered
in the race of life,
I was the straw holding
which you got your breath.
Time has fleeted
and your views have veered,
rejection of my love
has become your copacetic action.
Like the tempest,
you do all vandalism
and I fail even to give you
mere punishment.
