Love To A Medical Bachelor

You know there’s something very special about love,

But for a medical bachelor,

It’s just some random notion or perception,

Which has got nothing serious to do with our profession!

For we’ve always been happy going with life,

Making merry with our books all this while,

And the only love I guess we’ve ever fantasied,

Is to finally become a doctor without greed!

In all these years of transformation,

From a notorious kid to a bookworm,

We perfectly treasure some special moments in our soul,

Though ironically, getting married is never our goal!

Yet, having turned 28 now,

My family began poking me for this mess,

And eagerly they started searching a bride,

With all these matrimonial dreams put to my side!

But this was not easy as I thought of it,

Nor did it seem a cake walk anymore,

Because finally for the first time ever,

I was meeting a girl for marriage, with hell lot of pressure!

So, taking 5 hours on road and 3 hours by flight,

I had landed in her city,

To meet that fantasy girl, I knew nothing about,

And trust me, I wished to run back with a freaking shout!

Yet, I don’t have that option with me,

For if I ran, mom would show no mercy,

And having reached at her aspiring daughter-in-law’s home,

I really didn’t want to get this meeting postponed!

Then amid all these storms running in my mind,

There she entered the room with a subtle smile,

Touching my family’s feet in a row,

She accidentally was about to touch mine, but then waved her hand in a blow!

And as any other first meeting,

Here too, we both were asked to go out and speak,

Like what do I talk to a stranger,

‘Hey, how have you been’ or ‘please don’t take me as a danger’!

Yet, it all went well,

As if they never turned chapters started dancing,

We spoke about work, hobbies and food,

With life seeming in a way I had never viewed!

Nervousness and anxiety were getting calm,

Peace just took over the heart,

And for the first time ever in life,

I thought of falling in love and imagining someone as my wife!
