Lily
Lily
Like a Lily do I grow
Like in a river do I flow
Soft and glossy do I look
Firmly float on the base so strong
Leaves are flat to hold me tight
Life is struggle I have to fight
Red, salmon, pink and white
Yellow, orange, peach and black
So many are the shades of life
In an age from a girl to wife
I be gentle, I be strong
I as a woman in a throng
I on my foot like to stand
For my self-respect I withstand
I am soft, but inside not
My delicate body's stem so strong
I a woman, I a water lily
Though in water,
Do I survive
For I fight the waves
I fight the Sun
I look at the Moon
And the shiny thinker
s
Pick me up if you like
Buy me for I am beauty
Water lily, my name you know
In the hands of an Indian you show
Look at us with an open mind
Develop your conduct and be so kind
We are the beauty's
The real ones you know
This is a photograph for a show
Our life is same,
Same is our fame
I, water lily wish to say
You my mother for I am sure
Will let me grow
See the world
Not die in the womb
For you are human
I a flower
You my gardener
Will nurture me as long
I live for you
Give you peace of mind
Look at me
As purely white
For Beauty is true
And truth is beauty
