Like No One Should
Like No One Should
Oh, how would that do him any good?
To build a grave from his wounds
for dreams, his zeal, his secret side
to dug them deep for their esteem.
To veil his pain and ail again
under the pillowcase on a soundless night;
To clean with tears his wounds and scars
Out of nary soul’s distinct sight.
Oh, how would that do her any good?
To hold her longing behind a chuckle
She’s not a goddess or a fairy
to make them have faith in her like a miracle.
And how they reckon if she’s found with men
She’s bought them shame, so be on guard,
With everything that appears there is none
For family, name and fortune is only a pun.
Oh, how would that do you any good?
To gain name and fame; work blood and sweat out
Just to be comprised of their demands and doubts
To reminisce their beneficence as your kin,
And lie there thinking “what could’ve been?”
To try to accept what you cannot;
To crave for peace which lies in freedom
And be enslaved in this revolutionary kingdom.
All females will need feminism
Some males will beseech meninism,
The two-spirited will reckon but none
Other than a little bit more of humanism.
Thus, to live with pride and indulgence,
Imploring the world with some refulgence
To not to be a witless fool, in their cynical drool.
To love and be real throughout their livelihood
For oh! it wouldn’t do you any good
To exist wordlessly like no one should.
