Kindergarten
Kindergarten
They come to you young and shy
Asking questions how and why?
Scared of being away from home
Hiding inside, their very own dome.
You say hi, they reply with a bye.
Barriers between and a mournful cry.
You are the second mother
You need to explain,
A truly loving, acceptance of pain.
Am a teacher at kindergarten,
Whom the parent trusted,
Given me the treasure, they have expected.
Kids so tender, and so sweet,
The innocence and love are difficult to beat.
With year you try to solve their curiosity,
Teach them love, care and generosity.
You teach them how to say golden words,
But when they leave your heart really hurts.
Tiny tots messing around,
Making you run after them, on the playground.
You tell them the first letters and how to become a human better.
Oh alas! The journey ends when you start a bond,
Forever gone from class but always imprinted in the heart.
My kindergarten is a garden full of many flowers,
I cherish them each year, each day and hour!
