Interlude
Interlude
"Slow down", whispered the soothing breeze,
"Life is beautiful, meant to be lived with ease.
Why make haste, drink in the ethereal scene",
Said I, with a haughty nod, "What do you mean?"
Slowing down was such a waste of time,
I was intoxicated by the victories of mine.
Milestones to touch, winding roads to take,
Success beckoned me, swept me in its wake.
Little did I know nature has its own way,
Leaving humans with little or no say.
My condescension was my undoing,
The wild fury of nature left me ruing.
Bound to my abode, helpless and seething,
I was breathless, mother earth was breathing!!
Trying times do teach us enduring lessons,
To cherish and value moments and seasons.
"Slow down", whispered the soothing breeze,
"Life is beautiful, meant to be lived with ease".
I have slowed down, savouring the ethereal scenes,
Haughtiness vanquished, learning what life means!!
