Fair and Lovely Syndrome

Mera Bharat Mahaan, Mera Skin more Mahaan

I love my India not so less, but I love my Skin little more

In India, you are judged by your looks and not by virtues

In India your looks speak more louder than words

If you are "Fair" you are fair and honest, if you are Dark you are unfair and dishonest

Fair skinned people are considered as semi-Gods, Dark skinned people are considered as demons

Fair skinned people are treated as heroes, Dark skinned people are treated as villains

Fair skinned people are believed to be highly educated and intelligent, Dark skinned people are believed to be ignorant and dull

Fair skinned people are supposed to speak gospel truth, Dark skinned people are supposed to be liars

Fair skinned people are supposed to be of "foreign" origin, Dark skinned people are all "Madrasis"

Fair skinned people are supposed to be law abiders, Dark skinned people are supposed to be law breakers

I have no doubt that "Fair" impression is the first and everlasting impression !

Not that I loved my virtues less, but that I loved my looks more !
