Dewdrop
Dewdrop
I held a tiny dewdrop, fetched with great care,
Clasped it tight to heart, shielded it from peril.
So naive was I, thought it is for keeps,
It simply melted, while I looked elsewhere.
Childhood bonds, rated high in esteem once,
Overlooked, brushed aside, taken for granted.
Slowly vaporised, leaving a mere whiff,
In the chaos of bustling hectic life.
Friendship is delicate and friends invaluable,
To be nurtured and treasured with prudence.
Life is busy, unrelenting, unapologetic,
But that's no excuse, for a friend is priceless.
