Darkest Day
Darkest Day
On this, the eve of the darkest day
Polar nights are swept away
And though malevolence emerges for one more fight
Blessed moments of joy and laughter take flight
The days get brighter while darker still
The sun is reborn with the daffodil
The dichotomies of life and death remain
Love with Loss, joy with pain
While oppositions will clash no matter the scheme
May your visions bloom from all you dream
The essence of the spirit grips abjection
Fought off by the light of conscious reflection.
