Ancient Origins
Ere I looked back quite so often,
One notion had got me hoping,
Could one build a chronosphere,
Sail through time but still stay here.
Some faiths speak of cosmic eggs,
Some birth world in seven legs,
Some do speak of gods and kings,
Some of ET's with bearings.
Who could craft the potter's wheel,
Bend holy fire to serve our will,
Maybe man did steal from gods,
Crafting pyramids of mere clods.
Built those engines that run on steam,
Which impossible ere did seem.
Later went to moon and more,
Dozen laurels, maybe a score.
Who was it that brought to fruition,
Marvels in science whose contribution?
Were they gods who showered grace,
Or those aliens deep in space?
Maybe it was you and me,
On a chronal jumping spree,
Went to the past, and inspired legends,
Ran through centuries in a matter of seconds.
