An Evening At Puri Sea Beach
An Evening At Puri Sea Beach
We left the lodge when the clock struck five
And waited until the yellow taxi arrived;
It didn't take long, only a quarter to reach
Finally, our eyes witnessed the serene beach.
It was all blue except the snow-white foam
A sweet paradise for the lovebirds to roam;
Restless waves made our hearts restless
To be there was a joy, one cannot express.
People were jumping, bathing and dancing
With camels and horses they were posing;
The toy seller was launching, rockets so high
Some were busy having seafood nearby.
While the smooth breeze caressed our hair
At the horizon, the sky and sea were having an affair.
From beneath, wet sand licked our feet
Our sun-kissed skin grooved to the oceanic beat.
We slept on the lap of the cool beach from afar someone was playing the concertina
I plugged my earphones and it said,
"Hitha lagama dawatena, Huru pemaka patalena".
