A rant

Day in and day out,

There are those times when you may wish to shout,

There are some who wish to do more,

And come to wonder if for them anything will be in store.

You may know someone who waits every day,

Probably hoping that in their situation they won't stay,

Whether they are yelled at or face false accusation,

Those in such situations know to others they'll always be mistaken.

Those who want to do more can only stand by,

Watching those who while are better able to can't be bothered to try,

And while their frustration is evident to some,

To others, it can only be the fault of that person for what they've become.

All the while they if to another's standards they don't meet,

They come to see such shortcomings as one would a cowardly retreat,

And those individuals are all too aware of those views,

But due to the continued lack of support, it is the silence they choose.

 

They know all too well that after a time they'll only be ignored,

And any recognition or apology to them will not be restored,

So they each day go through the motions without a thought,

For they know well that for the time being that's the best they've got. 

I hope any who read this read keeps in mind,

That yes even in their lives such a person you will find,

If they're not where they want to be it's not always because they don't try,

So even if you don't know the exact reason why- 

Instead of acknowledging the lack of progress they make,

There is a better action you can take,

Those people may want very much to succeed,

But they may not know how to proceed.

Don't look at their lack of success or understanding only at face value,

If you do, I'm sorry but I can only see that as shallow,

Just because someone is falling behind,

It isn't because they lack enthusiasm or strength of mind.
