The day starts to tick tock,

Running with daily chores,

Opening our sweat pores

Wishing not to be late,

Cursing our own fate,

Here come the engineers of software!

Reaching office early,

Updating the status hourly,

Dealing with different personalities,

We suppress our abnormalities,

Sitting like lifeless idles,

We do work like machines,

We are of course software engineers!

So-called dedicated resources,

Killing one's personal spaces,

Risking up the relations,

Striving to reach impossible targets,

No weekends and No holidays,

No difference in timezones,

We are called IT engineers!

Politics in each step,

No recognition for the hard work you put up,

No onsite or No hikes,

Facing these appraisal Tricks,

Balancing a life's rollercoaster ride,

Fail to reach increasing responsibilities tide,

Still, we are software engineers!

No guarantee of a job in the market,

Never know when we become a target,

Worry for petty things,

Shiver when we lose projects,

The day starts with shocking surprises,

We are those frustrated engineers!

Still, we work day and night,

Not complaining and not putting up any fight,

Pushing our comfort zones often,

Waiting for miracles to happen,

Being Passionate and compassionate,

We write our futures fate,
