A Tsunami Is Coming
A Tsunami Is Coming
A tsunami is to hit us, the biggest ever known,
It will leave all our buildings and sculpture alone.
It won’t take our cars, mobiles, wallets either,
Our wardrobes, ornaments, book neither.
It will take the most trivial, most insignificant,
Our deposits of diamonds which we view as flint.
Humility and gratitude will be washed away,
Generosity and kindness will have no say.
Kinship and camaraderie will go too,
‘Truth alone triumphs’, no longer be true.
Artificial intelligence will combat the actual,
Hard to distinguish between fiction and factual.
Like any other animal, we would be,
Our souls floating like shattered debris.
