Women: Gift of life.

Being a woman is not easy. Respectfully, leading a life as a male is also relatably difficult. Even though society and the people around us have different opinions, I believe that having a life as a girl, a woman is a gift. It is an honor that people need to understand, empower and respect. Women have always faced a lot of struggles, have surpassed many problems, and attained success, sometimes even failure. They are always open to physical abuse and mental harassment. Despite that, they take up the roles of a mother, the reason for life on this planet. A sister, a protective barrier from problems. A wife, who takes up the further responsibility of a male. A daughter, the reason for a dad's smile. The 70s and 80s were the years, where women were the meaning of a life living in fear. Women were restricted to have a life within the four walls of the house, to be good mothers and housewives. They were denied formal education and the urge to speak up their opinions. Though the world and society have changed the views about the lives of women, they still face many social problems and lead their life in terror.

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex once quoted that, "Women don't need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen." Every change and success story begins at home. I believe that educating a girl child to grow up and use her voice to take a stand for her own decisions independently is important. According to 108th Amendment, 1/3rd of the seats in the parliament are reserved for women. Even after that, women still refuse to stand up and speak for the betterment of society. They were always taught to sit upright and to just take care of their work perfectly. Nidhi Shrivastava, a researcher who wrote the article 'The progress of Indian women from 1990s to present.' In her work, she stated the life of Sita from Ramayan and takes her life as an example to explain the difficulties she had to face for being a woman. Many acts came into existence supporting and raising questions about women's rights in various fields. Feminism is the most talked about topic and reached diverse people in different ways and gave them strength to stand up and speak. People have different opinions regarding feminism and feminists.

Feminism is not about upbringing the possibilities and the choices of women and accepting what they do is right. I believe that feminism is about giving women the right choices and treating them equally to that of a male. Many famous personalities like Kiran Bedi, P T Usha, Oprah Winfrey, Kalpana Saroj, Sudha Murthy, Sudha Chandran, etc. They are now an inspiration for many common women. They have become a voice to many girls who are silently fighting through the norms of society.

Being a woman is a blessing in disguise. Every girl grows up to be a woman, but only a strong woman transforms into a lady. Religiously, most of the deities worshipped by people are women. That's because women refer to purity, the role of purifying and finding the right path for the lost souls can be done only by a woman that is a mother. We live in a society where feminism has sown seeds for uplifting and the upbringing of women but they are yet to be treated equal to men and should be allowed to lead their life according to their will. Being born as a girl and leading a life as a woman is not a sin. Let's change our opinion towards woman's life and help them get the life they deserve. Women are indeed born to rise high into the blue sky and are the brightest stars and the inner soul of this beautiful universe.

"To be literate, Woman must feel free to be herself, not in rivalry to a man but in the context of her capacity and her personality."
