All the animals were in their houses when a sudden thunderstorm was heard. Suddenly, a big, giant parrot appeared. Everyone got scared. The parrot spoke, “Don’t be alarmed. My name is Polly. I have been sent by God to help you with your problems. So, tell me, how can I help you?”

The animals said, “River water is rising so, we are afraid that a flood can come anytime and we don’t have any way to get to the other side!” Polly asked, “Why don’t we make a bridge?” Everyone liked the idea and immediately got to work.

Ellie the Elephant brought uprooted trees to the river. Billy the Bear got stones and food supplies that they would be needing for the long and tiring journey that awaited them. Polly suggested that Heather the Hippopotamus should carry the babies.

After everyone was assigned a job, the bridge didn’t take much time to be built. It was ready in two days' time. The animals thanked Polly for her help.

“It wasn’t me. It was you who worked together to build the bridge. So, my dear friends, always remember that you can overcome any problem if you stand together. “Polly said, “Now it’s time for me to go back,” All the animals got sad. Heather said, “But why? You have only been with us for two days! Can’t you stay a little longer?”

Polly smiled and said,” I am afraid it is not possible! I have others to help too!” The animals bade a teary goodbye to Polly. The animals finally understood that Unity is Strength.
