A Road Accident

One day, when I was going home from school, I witnessed a road accident. A boy was knocked down by a car while trying to cross the road. He sat on the road crying loudly and holding his injured knee. He seemed to be in great pain. The worried driver got out of the car to see how badly hurt he was. Many people began to crowd around to watch. A passerby called the ambulance and police immediately. 

Soon, a police car and ambulance arrived. A policemen kept the crowd back. Another spoke to the driver of the car. He was writing a report as the driver recalled what had happened. Two paramedics checked on the boy. Then they put him on a stretcher and took him to the hospital.

Now the boy was in the hospital and the crowd was gone. I too went back to my house and told my mother. My mother said to me, "Now you see. We should follow traffic rules to keep ourselves safe. Do you know some of the traffic rules?" "Yes mommy. We should look right and left and right again. This way we will never bump into a car like the boy did." I replied. "Yes, come change your clothes and do your homework. Then you can go out play with your friends."
