Kiya and Kiyansh were returning from their school, by walk, as usual, but something was unusual!! They walked without any talk of Mrs. Peter, did not water the plants with the water in their waterbottle and they didn't stroke the pet of Mr. Sharma, just walked and walked quietly, with their as usual heavy bags. They reached their house soon and rang the doorbell. Their mother opened the door.

"Welcome home" she greeted cheerfully. "Oh thanks mom!!" said Kiya in a dull-lame voice. They both came in. Their mom stepped ahead for the usual hug that Kiyansh gave her after coming from the school, but he just threw off his shoes and went to his room. "Dear children, I have cooked momos and biryani for you both, you love it, don't you? Aren't you glad?"she said. There was an unexpected silence. "Is anything wrong with you? Did something went wrong in the school today? Are you too tired to speak? What happened?" asked their mom as she brought the luscious lunch, served the food and the wonderful smell permeated through the room. "Oh mom! There wasn't any need of making such delicacies, you could have made 'dal- roti' " said Kiya, sadly. "But you hate 'dal- roti', don't you?"asked their mom in an astonished way. They both sat on the dining chairs and dwelled on till the food got stale. "Oh! Children, what on the earth are you thinking?Look, the food has got stale and after sometime, it will become tasteless. Please eat it quickly!!!" she said.

The two ate their food and went to their room for completing their studies and reading books, otherwise they would watch cartoons on television. They both completed their homework and studies and then went to sleep, otherwise they would have went down for playing in the playground with their friends. Their mom was shockingly surprised. When they woke and freshened up, she gave them a glass of milk each and asked again, " Dear children, what is wrong with you? Why you are so delirious and pessimistic today? Did your teacher told you off or you were punished? What happened exactly? Please tell me, may be, I would be able to help you with the problem!". " Nothing much mom, we are just worried about our future" they both said in a voice full of sadness. " Why on the earth are you worried for your future?" asked their mom with an expression of surprise.

The three people sat on chairs and discussed the problem. "Mom, today our teacher took us to our school's Science laboratory and we studied there that how humans are destroying the Earth, the selfless environment, by deforestation, pollution and usage of harmful plastic. Several thousands of innocent fishes die every year and the reason is - poisonous plastic in their stomachs. We were astounded to see how the Earth is getting destroyed by us, day by day! We have no humane for nature! Though plastic has several bad effects, people use it. It kills animals by choking their respiratory tracts, it blocks the ways of rivers and other waterbodies from flowing and it does not get recycled and decomposed in the soil and stay in it overtime. It's so poisonous! Pollution- Air pollution, Water pollution, greenhouse gases released by us and so many other things done by us devastates and massacres the Earth, then why shall we not worry for our and our precious planet Earth's future? Humans have become so greedy, heartless and selfish, that for making his houses, he is cutting trees and snatching homes of birds and animals and lives of our friends, trees. Actually, we are not going to do any pity on environment by saving it, we are just going to save our own lives, but no one understands this, people have to only look for their benefits. Humans are worse than animals! Hence, we are so tensed and worried!!!" Kiya and Kiyansh said, deliriously.

" Children, inspite of saying bad to people, you do something for our environment!" their mom said politely. "What will happen by only ' two people saving the environment' " they both asked sarcastically. "I will tell you a story, that my Grandpa had told me when I was young" she said. "Well, please tell us the story" Kiya said.

Their mom began to narrate the story-

"So children, once a man called Ramu went over to a beach. That night a strong storm came in there. At the morning, Ramu was taking a walk near the the seashore, when he saw a little boy throwing all the starfishes, lying on the sandy shore, in the sea, to give them their lives back. Ramu laughed on the little boy and continued with his walk. After returning from his long walk, he saw the boy throwing the starfishes in the water yet. He was extremely tired and was exhausted but didn't gave up, not for a single second. Ramu grinned on his folly and said, "Boy, why are you tiring yourself by doing such a foolish work?". The boy ignored his question. Ramu said again, " Dear boy, if you will not cease throwing the fishes, then you will lose your dear life and by the way, you can't give life to all the starfishes lying here.

The boy exclaimed politely, " Uncle, first of first, this work is not a foolish one. Yes, you are right, I can't give life to all the starfishes but I can give to some and that's more than enough for me. ' Instead of losing hope, we should try and try, and others will join us too' ". The boy gave a smile. Ramu was astounded by the wisdom of the tiny boy. He clapped his hands for him and joined him. Later, some other people came there and laughed on him, but then Ramu was ready to say the wise words of the boy, "Instead of losing hope, we should try and try, and others will join us too!!". The people understood the beautiful meaning of the wondrous words and joined them. One by one, all the people on the beach joined them and several thousand starfishes were saved!!!

The story is wonder-filled, isn't it? Now go to the playground and narrate this story to your friends too because we have to save our environment as fast as possible!!! So, say with me together, ' Save Nature, to save our own life!!" . Kiya and Kiyansh listened the story with great interest and were deeply affected by it . "Thanks a ton mom, for leading us to the right direction!" they both said gratefully and started working for the environment together!!!!!
