True Friendship

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Jessica. She was very kind and gentle to everyone and had so many friends. She invited her whole class to her birthday party and gave all of them very nice and beautiful gifts. She felt very lucky that nobody had so many friends as she had in her school or in her neighborhood .

But everything was changed on National Friendship Day. Her teacher said that prepare and give cards to your 3 best friends. Jessica liked this activity choosing 3 close friends from a dozen of friends. She gave cards to her 3 close friends that were - Flora, Daisy and Ruby. But till the end of school, the child who had not got one card also was Jessica.

She thought that she had so many friends and was expecting so many cards but not a single card was received by her. She was astonished and started weeping. Many of her friends came and tried to comfort her but remained only for a few seconds. She realized then that she also used to do the same. She came home and created a puddle of her tears in her room. She told the incident to her dear Mom.

Jessica said 'Mom, I try not to argue with them, share everything with them and also give attention to everybody. But still, nobody sees me like a best friend. Why? ' Her mom replied that , ' My dear Jessica, this much is not the thing a true friend needs to do. You need to be with them in all their good as well as bad times.'

Jessica said ' But mom, I want to make the whole class my friend .' ' You can't make everybody your best friend because you can't be there for them every time. Best friends could be only a few friends .' Mom said. Jessica understood how she could make more friends. After coming back to her room, she thought that her Mom always supported her, forgave her, loved her and spent the most time with her. Then Jessica realized, that she had the best friend nobody can ever have.
