Shamsher and Shera were thick friends. They shared a bond that was getting better with age. Shamsher had moved to a nearby city, was earning well, and led a decent life along with his loving wife and children. Shamsher was hard working and never wasted his time lazing around. Shera was not so prompt at work nor he Was fond of achieving any better things in life. This was not simplicity at all. It was taking things easy and just let life pass by. He shared his life with two more of his brothers and old parents. All they had was a small piece of land meant for farming and a big jack fruit tree in their backyard. Shera used to sell those jackfruits while his brothers used to work on the farm. This was the daily routine that somehow helped them to keep going.

Shamsher happened to visit his village during a festival. He was pleased to meet his best buddy after a long time. Both friends went around the village meeting all other of their friends and enjoyed the evening. Shera noticed that Shemshar was well dressed, and guessed he was doing much better than him. During their interaction, Shamsher understood that Shera was not happy with his own life. He wanted to help his friend with this. But, knew Shera would feel bad if Shamsher would advise him. So he came up with a simple plan. There was an old saint in the nearby village who was revered by people because of the guidance he gave people that solved many problems. He was practically right always. So Shamsher requests the Saint to go along with him to his village and guide Shera and his brothers to do better work and earn well. For his relief, the Saint agrees and they proceed to Sheras village. After all the formalities are over the Saint is made to sit under the Jack fruit tree comfortably.   Shamsher broaches the topic of Shera's livelihood that was not very profitable nor fetching. Shera refers to selling the jackfruits for a living that was not enough to sustain. To their shock, the Saint suggests cutting off the Jackfruit tree. Shamsher too was confused as to why the Saint had suggested such a measure but thought there might be some valid reason for this. Shera and his brothers get annoyed at this suggestion and express their displeasure to Shamsher. The saint and Shamsher had to leave due to this reaction. Feeling unhappy at the entire episode he goes back to his place. A few years roll by. Both friends don't get to meet each other. But, Shamsher finally gets a chance to visit his village again as his sister's daughter was to get married. Shamsher along with his entire family comes down to his village happily. He was happy for another reason too. You guessed it right he would be meeting his best buddy after a long time. Very eagerly and excitedly he proceeds towards Shera's house only to be stunned. Instead of Shera's ramshackle home, he finds a well done up home with the nameplate mentioning Shera's name. Surprise surprise indeed a pleasant one. As he enters the main gate Shera comes running and hugs Shamsher. After they settle down to talk Shera firstly thanks Shamsher who had brought the Saint who had advice to. cut the Jack fruit tree. This seems proved to be the turning point in their lives. Once the Jackfruit tree was gone, Shera and his brothers had no other alternative but to.work.and earn a living. So each let off laziness and worked very very hard on their farmland growing exotic fruits and veggies that fetched them good profits.   This in turn helped them to buy more land and more farming. What they thought was an impractical suggestion given by the Saint turned out to be the best and a very practical, possible, and prosperous one too.
