The Robbery In A Hotel

Once there was a detective agency in Jaipur, named PDA standing for Panchatva Detective Agency run by Five Intelligent Friends.

The names of the Friends were Rohit, Ramesh, Sanjeev, Atharva and Tanmay. PDA was a very popular agency and was known to have solved 300 cases in just fifteen months. After working for a long time, they needed a break. So, the five friends went on a holiday to Goa. They booked a hotel for six days and five nights for a good refreshment.

Everyone was very excited about the trip. On reaching the hotel, they rested for some time and then explored the hotel. It almost took an hour to see the complete hotel as it was a very big one. Then they went to the restaurant, ate dinner, and went to their room.

After a good night's sleep, Tanmay was going to the reception to ask for breakfast but something unexpected happened. He heard a waiter saying, "Yes, Yes! I know about it. But still not able to understand how things are disappearing from the banquet hall!! The antique vases and paintings were totally worth around 3.5 lakhs. Tanmay quickly went to his friends and told them all the information about it.

Tanmay quickly went to his friends and gave this information to them. Rohit said, “We should ask the manager about it, he must be knowing more about this!”. The five went to the manager and confronted him, “Manager Vignesh, we are from a detective agency. We are here to ask you about the robbery in the hotel!” The manager was in shock about how they knew about the robbery. manager Vignesh took the five friends to a quiet room and then discussed it. Vignesh said, “Yes! There is a robbery going on in this hotel. Who is doing this is a mystery for us. We have tried to keep an eye on the banquet hall from all four sides but every time the culprit escapes.” Ramesh asked Vignesh, “ Do you have any suspect,” Vignesh said,” yes there are two new joiners I think it could be one of them." They all went and called the two new joiners. When they arrived Sanjiv asked the first one who was a watchman that what do you do at night? The Watchmen reply that he has night duty. Atharva asked him “Do you know about the robbery in this hotel?” He answered, "Yes sir Vignesh sir already told me about it. I am also very Careful about it but the light it goes off of And The Thief escapes. he puts a smoke bomb! that's all I know." The next was a housekeeping maid. He asked the same thing that do you know about the robbery. Her answer was, “Sir I didn't know about the robbery but after you told me I do suspect someone” “Who??” The maid continued, “There is a guest in room number 324. Mr Mehra. His behaviour is quite suspicious. I was doing my work of cleaning his room when I found a smoke bomb.” Everyone was listening carefully so they don’t miss a detail. “I also found a list, before I could read it, Mr Mehra came to the room and snatched it away from me,” Ramesh asked the maid to try to recollect what was written on the list. Thinking harder and harder, The maid remembered that it was a list of items such as vases, watches, coins, paintings and all. 

The five friends thanked the maid and went to Mr Mehra’s room. On the way to the room, the manager said that he had some work to do and left the investigation.

They went to Mr Mehra’s room but found no one. They called the receptionist but she told me that Mr Mehra checked out from the hotel just a few minutes ago. Sadly, they lost the opportunity but still tried to check his room if they found any kind of clue.

They soon found a smoke bomb and the same list the maid was talking about. Rohit said, “According to the watchman, the light goes off when the thief comes. It is not possible for the same person to control the electricity and go into the banquet hall at the same time as the electricity controller is almost 4-5 km away. There is someone with him. We need to find out who the other person is”. Everyone thought that this was right and soon they understood that there is something in the locker that Mr Mehra left to check before leaving the hotel.

Trying several times they broke the passcode and saw that there was a number written on a chit in the locker. They knew it was the associate’s number and so tried calling it again and again but it was switched off. Tanmay, the tech expert, found the last live location of the number and found out that he was in the hotel and switched off his phone just a few minutes ago. They checked the number in the hotel employees list only to find out that it was the MANAGER himself. Yeah, That was shocking!!

 

The next moment, they went to Vignesh and asked him to confess what he had done. He hesitatingly asked them, "What?" Sanjiv told him, "Drop the suspense now, we know everything about Mr Mehra as well". Vignesh said, "Ok! Ok! I'll confess. It was all my plan. Mr Mehra is my associate. I only called him so that he could be safe and run out of the hotel. I was the one who told the new watchman about the robbery and blamed the maid but the maid turned out to give you more clues about the robbery. Mr Mehra is a great electrician and my partner in this robbery. He turns off the lights and gives me the smoke bomb so that I can easily steal the vases, coins, paintings which are very expensive” The detectives immediately called the police and also took back the stolen items from him.

The five friends were honoured by the Hotel Owner and were also given 1 lakh rupees for helping in the case. Then they enjoyed their stay and came back to Jaipur.
