Once upon a time, there were two twins named Avalon and Audrie. The twin's parents were the head of the town, so everyone would come to them if they needed any help. On the contrary, the twins were very nasty to the citizens of the town and always used to steal and annoy the people in the town.

An example of a nasty occurrence with the twins was when they were buying cakes from the bakery, they had spotted a young girl who was begging for food. They did not even take a second glance at the poor beggar girl, but instead walked away while teasing her. “This girl smells so bad; I do not even think she knows how to be tidy; she is so nasty” said Audrie. “What is she even doing?” said Avalon. They just stared at the poor girl and walked away.

The twin’s parents, Avis and Audra, were very disappointed in their children. They decided that they should have gratitude rituals twice a month. The towns folk were very excited to show their gratitude to everyone, but mainly they were hoping that these rituals would bring an improvement in the twin’s behavior. But, Avalon and Audrie were not at all happy about these rituals. They knew why their parents were doing this, so they decided that they would make their parents lose hope in them and give up trying to change their character.

During the first ritual, everyone had to come neatly dressed to the town square for the ritual and bring something special to donate to the poor to show gratitude. Avalon and Audrie did the complete opposite. They dressed in rags and brought broken pieces of glass to donate to the poor. When the ritual started everyone recited their prayers. Then a few of them shared how they showed gratitude to other citizens and how they will continue to be thankful for what they have. Avalon and Audrie made nasty comments about the ritual. Everyone heard, but no one said anything because they were too scared. At the end of the ritual, everyone shared their food and everyone had a good time. Almost everyone… Avalon and Audrie were just walking around and stealing food.

At the very end of the ritual, when everyone was leaving, each and every person stopped by a counter to put down the items they wanted to donate. When it was Audrie’s and Avalon’s turn, they gave their broken pieces of glass to the man at the counter. When he told them that broken items were not allowed, the twins threw the glass onto the man’s face and then stalked away leaving the man at the counter howling in pain.

That was the twin’s last chance. The towns folk had enough of the twin’s nonsense. They needed someone to help solve their problem and they wouldn’t ask Avis and Audra... They needed someone else who would stand up for themselves...

They all searched but couldn’t find anyone until one day, an old man who had a long beard came into the village. He was being carried in a golden throne but he wore old rags. The citizens were very surprised because they had never seen a rich person wear old rags! When he came down from his throne, he started to talk with the people. He said “I am Moong- Shoo and I am the king of a nearby kingdom. I have heard of a set of twins who have destroyed the village by their rudeness and selfishness.” Someone suddenly interrupted him. All of the citizens looked behind and found the twins. The twins had been listening to everything and were very angry. They got some fruits and started to throw them at the citizens. But suddenly, there was a light which blinded the twins. The next thing the twins knew was lying on the bed and everyone staring at them. They felt a little overwhelmed but then suddenly realized their mistake. They did not know what had happened and what caused them to realize their mistake.

Their parents were also looking at them. Then Avalon and Audrie said, “We are very sorry everyone. We do not know why we had one that. We want to be kind and not meanies. Please forgive us.”

Everyone started hugging them but the twins did not why but they always knew to be kind and never to judge a book by its cover.
