The Journey On Mars

The Journey On Mars

2 mins

The journey was arduous. It took 9 challenging months of maneuvering the rocket throughout space with only the darkness and my thought to accompany me. It was only minutes after I was getting ready to come out of my rocket and start to land. I was suddenly shot out of my cabin and the rover's booster engines sped me through the dark endless void. I was nearly half way though my trip to entering Mars's atmosphere, when I was detached with the probe, roaming around independently counting the minutes before I take my first step onto the warmness of Mars's air.

As I landed onto the inhospitable blood, red planet, I froze staring at the peaceful terrain. I was eager to explore this mysterious rocky planet and see if there is life out there. As I started to move to investigate Mars, I started to feel nauseous. My circuits were malfunctioning and after a while I couldn't move. I didn't know what to do or who to call. My head was spinning and my body felt heavy. I wasn't trained for this. I couldn't handle all this pressure by myself alone and after a few minutes I blew a fuse.

With my fuse I couldn't do a thing. I felt like a disappointment at hat time. I failed to do my job and I upset everyone who was counting on me. Did this mean I can't contact anyone for help because of my fuse? Am I going to be stuck here FOREVER? There was no solution for my problem. I was stuck here with no help, no company just my useless self. I was just about to give up on trying to get out of here when I heard a strange noise.

My central prosser was malfunctioned so I couldn't focus much and I ignored it. Then I heard that strange, eerie noise again. I shivered in fear but excited at the same time, could there really be life on Mars? Maybe I didn't let everyone down? As I was getting my hopes up, I saw a weird shadow coming towards me. It came closer and closer by each second. Suddenly, a large gust hit my face leaving me in the cold. Quickly I turned around trying to find that shadow but it was gone, no where to be seen. I know I saw it, where could it have gone? Was I just hallucinating?
