The Journey Of The Shy Girl

Riley screamed and yelled, yet she got dragged away by her parents from the house she loved the most! In that house lived her sister, aunt, uncle, grandmom, grandpa, and everyone she loved. It was a huge joint family, which was now going to be nucleated. She had to leave behind her friends, family, and shift to a place completely Stranger to her.

Riley was a really shy girl, who never went out of her zone. She had only two best friends in her previous school. The first day of school was immense pressure on her. Nervousness shook in and sweat poured out. She went inside the class and the teacher introduced her to everyone. She was welcomed with claps. The teacher asked her to sit near a girl and she did so without uttering a word, staring at all the new faces and scared in herself.

Riley’s bench partner, seeing her inconvenience, spoke. She said, “ Hi! I am Disha.” Riley in a feeble and scared voice said, “ Hi!” Disha started speaking to her about various things and Riley slowly started to open up. She used to always stay beside Disha and never socialize much. Slowly as the year passed by she started speaking a little with all the girls in the class. Next year Disha shifted to another place. Riley again was left there in isolation and went back into her shell.

On the first day, she was sitting and crying alone as she didn’t have any friends. Her teacher saw her and tried to comfort her. She asked her the reason for her crying. Riley with a very innocent voice said, “ I have no friends” and cried again. The teacher with a sweet calming voice said, “I am your friend.” A happiness beam passed through Riley and a small smile appeared on her face.

The other girls in the class seeing her alone came to her and never again let her be alone. Riley started to open up a lot. She was really happy to be with such great friends. She had never been so happy and confident of herself.

One day, a girl named Arya started running with Riley’s pouch in class just for fun. Riley ran after her and they were having fun but suddenly Riley sat down and started crying. Seeing her cry Arya gave her her pouch and everyone surrounded her. Every girl and boy in the class was there comforting her. That moment Riley realized that no matter how much fun these people have or tease others they always are there for each other in difficult times. She felt as if she was important and worth something. Those tears were no longer of sadness but of joy. She didn’t say anything at that moment.

When she went and sat next to her new bench partner, Nora, Nora asked her why did she cry. Riley replied with slight tears, “ Actually, I had been bullied in my previous school and had only two friends. Seeing Arya run around with my pouch reminded me of my bullies and no matter how hard I tried tears rolled down. But now I know that I am very lucky to be here with friends like you guys!!”

They hugged. That moment Riley had found her new best friend and they had become inseparable forever!!
