The Inconceivable Moment Of The Sweeping Girl

Long back ago, there existed a renowned dance academy named 'Dancing Kings & Queens' in one of the beautiful Valleys in India 'Kangra Valley' on the banks of Kareiri lake. The valley was also called the 'Land Of Gods'.

There lived a girl nearby in the valley. She and her ancestors had been poor for generations. So, she used to run her and her family's employment by mopping people's homes, and due to this obligation of hers, she was gradually aggravated as 'The Sweeping Girl' by each and every Valley dweller loving there.

She often hated this kind of persecution towards her by those people whom she helped with cleaning their homes.

But, ultimately she was helpless and had no option except to continue sweeping people's homes.

She had 2 brothers - 'Harsh' and 'Vardhan' which whom she felt free to share anything she wanted to.

Vardhan was 11 years younger while 'Harsh' was 6 elder than her. When both the bruvvers heard people teasing and calling out her name as 'The Sweeping Girl', they both reacted indignantly.

Vardhan who was 7 years old accosted stammering as he said, "Don't tease my sister from now on! ". In this way, he tried his best to warn and make people understand.

But, none of them listened or paid attention to him. Instead, the poor boy was disheartened.

Sabrina, his one and only sister made him understand by advising him not to be sad and ignore such people.

Three of them were very close to each other.

One fine day, while coming back after mopping Ms. Gagan's home, Sabina began dancing with her broom as if it was her dance partner gracefully all through the valley.

At that moment, the C.E.O 'Mr. R.N Trivedi' of the dance Academy was passing by and saw her dancing unconsciously with her eyes closed.

He came close to her by & started watching her from a distance.

Once, she got over with her dancing and became conscious again as she opened her eyes, she got embarrassed and startled by the presence of the C.E.O in front of her.

"Good afternoon Sir, it's truly an apology, I... " But, before she could explain anything to Mr. Trivedi, he said " No need to apologize. After all, it's a gracias from my side for providing such a flawless dancer suitable for our academy!" "Sir, Are you talking about me?", she enquired. "Yes, I'm absolutely talking about you! I'm pleased, as well as impressed with your dance performance in this beautiful valley. Please accompany me to the academy." Mr. Trivedi pleaded. "Sir,I belong to a family who has endured a lot of penuries. Everyone mocks me as 'The Sweeping Girl' as I've to mop people's homes to run my and my family's employment. Even, I can't afford the money required to enter your academy. Then, how can I assent to it?" she cried as she explained her and her family's condition. "Don't worry. We won't charge anything from dancers like you. I shall be greatly obliged if you assent coming to our academy.", Mr. Trivedi again requested as he explained that he won't charge her for coming to his academy. Sabrina couldn't understand what to say now. She then said "Sir, you're making me feel embarrassed in such a way. OK then, I'll see. Kindly give me time to decide." "Danke dear! Our academy remains open from 9 am to 7 pm. I'm available during these timings. You can come anytime in between these timings and meet me. I'll wait for your decision.", Mr. R.N Trivedi thanked him as he left for his academy.

There, Sabrina was confused thinking she had said that she'll decide but it was much more difficult than she'd thought.

"What if I forget the steps in front of everybody?"If so, then what reputation of mine be left within the eyes of Mr. Trivedi?"

She didn't want to break Mr. Trivedi's trust or any unforeseen event tarnish her newly-developed reputation towards Mr. Trivedi.

There was a continuous arrival of such kind of scary questions in her mind all the way to her homemaking her brooded.

It was 5:13 pm when she arrived at her home.

Harsh immediately enquired "What happened? Why did you look so mused? as she entered the house.

Then, she gradually demystified everything that happened on her way to the home to her elder bruvver.

" Now, please help me decide. It's 5:25 pm and I've time to meet and inform him about my decision till 7 pm today. Otherwise, I shall lose his trust over me.", Sabrina solicited Harsh.

He advised her to try her best during the performance. Being her elder brother, he started explaining "Taking part is a big thing. Even if you lose, it's not a problem.

Dancing is a mode of expressing feelings and enjoying.

All required is just to enjoy dancing freely, gracefully expressing you and your feelings keeping a smile on your face.

You yourself tell, don't you feel much happy from within when you dance for yourself like when you were dancing with your broom while coming back after mopping Ms. Gagan's home? That time, you weren't dancing for someone, rather for yourself.

That's the real beauty of dance!"

He explained everything so well that she now understood what to do next and also was ready to express herself not for anyone else, but for herself.

She thanked her brother and left for the academy.

At 6 pm, she reached the academy. As soon as she reached there, she made herself engrossed in searching Mr. Trivedi.

She saw him scolding a dancer "Do the steps properly, otherwise, you will be fired from our academy."

For a minute, Sabrina too got scared as she moved back a little and thought "What if I'd have been in the place of the dancer being scolded?"

But then, she remembered her brother's sayings and then again got ready to meet the C.E.O.

She confidently walked towards him and excused " Excuse Me, respected Sir! May I talk to you?. Upon hearing, he turned and immediately recognized the girl." Oh! Is it you? Please come." he exclaimed and instructed her to follow him to his room.

On the door of the room, there were labels. The 1st one on the top was an engraved nameplate which read, 'Mr. Rabindranath Trivedi', while the bottom one was a designation plate. It read, 'C.E.O'.

Sabrina couldn't understand the communication through the engravings as she wasn't educated.

But, she knew that it was Mr. Trivedi's room, so she applied her presence of mind and realized that maybe it was engravings of his name to show that the room belongs to him.

Inside the room was a chilled temperature caused by the air-conditioner being turned on.

First, Sabrina felt a shivering essence of the room; sending shivers down her spine, as she entered. But she didn't react in front of the C.E.O.

Then, they both sat down as the C.E.O requested and then solicited, "Come! Please sit. First of all, would like to ask your name."

"My name is 'Sabrina Routhan'.", she replied.

" Nice name! So, what did you decide?", he exclaimed and asked.

"Yes sir, I'm ready to join your academy.", she replied.

"Oh, Great! Exercised good judgment! You are warmly welcomed to our dance academy. ", Mr. Trivedi exclaimed as he welcomed her.

He then made her introduction to her dancer partner - Mr. Andrew. He looked handsome wearing an impressive outfit.

"Hey, Andrew! This is your dance partner for the upcoming event. Her name is Sabrina.", Mr. Trivedi said as he introduced the girl to her dance partner.

"Hi, Sabrina! How are you? It's a pleasure to meet you.", the partner said extending his hand of friendship.

Sabrina got influenced by his sensitive words.

"Good evening sir. I'm good, thank you. Am glad you meet you too.", she replied accepting his hand of friendship.

Now that you both know each of you well, prepare a splendid dance performance on the account of 'World Environment Day coming soon on 5 June. Today is 28th May and you have a week to prepare for it. Now, I'm leaving everything to both of you. Give your best!", the C.E.O assigned and then left for an important meeting.

As soon as the C.E.O left, they both started preparing for the performance and the dance was choreographed by Mr. Andrew. While the preparation, they eventually fell in love.

Gradually, they successfully prepared a deft and diligent dance performance.

Finally, 'World Environment Day approached. It was 5th June and the day to showcase the talent.

That day, Sabrina wore her attire furnished to her and reached 2 minutes late. Due to the delay, both the performers couldn't practice prior to the show, and Sabrina was a little edgy before the execution.

"Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen! We welcome each one of you to our grand show on the occasion of 'World Environment Day organized by our dance academy 'Dancing Kings and Queens', Mr. Trivedi said as he inaugurated the show.

According to its agenda, the 1st thing to be started with was a long speech on 'World Environment Day' and thus there was time for their performance.

Hence, seizing the opportunity, Mr. Andrew and Sabrina quickly went to the big Hall, their practicing area, and practiced before the speech got completed.

Now, Sabrina wasn't anxious. She had practiced and got satisfied. Someone has rightly stated, "Practice makes a man perfect!"

Now, it was time to perform on the stage in front of everybody.

"Now, it is time for some entertainment! Our two performers - Miss Sabrina and Mr. Andrew are going to glorify this show with their balanced and professional dance performance. Welcome them with loud applause!", Mr. Trivedi announced as he called out their names and welcomed them on the stage. They both stepped on the stage and began their 'Salsa' dance performance as a tribute to our Mother Earth.

When the performance got over, they bowed their heads, and everyone starting clapping by giving a standing audition to their lovely performance.

The C.E.O also liked their performance and it was much better than he had expected.

Therefore, their performance was awarded the title of 'Performance Of The Year' which in those days, were of great worth and people struggled for it! Also, he mentioned Sabrina's name in the list of his academy's top dancers.

This was truly her life's incredible and Inconceivable Moment she had ever thought of!

Also, all the valley dwellers who teased her had got their lesson of NEVER UNDERESTIMATING ANYONE.

All of them visited Sabrina's home and apologized to her.

Sabrina then thanked God for the wonderful life she had been gifted!
