The farmer and the mongoose

Once upon a time ,a farmer was living with his only son and a wife.He loved his son a lot.Little boy was pearl of eye of his father.He had a pet mongoose. He was very fond of this mongoose.

One morning,farmer and his wife had to go to their fields for some work.Their son was sleeping.Farmer suggested his wife that ,"Let him sleep.No need to wake him up ,otherwise he will be annoyed.We are just coming back within 2 hours."

Wife said,"But ,who will take care of him?Alone,he will be scared ."

Farmer assured his wife that,"Don't worry.Mongoose is here.It will take care of him.Our son is also familiar with it.There will be no issues."

Both of them left for the fields. Meanwhile ,their son woke up and started to play with the mongoose.Then only ,the mongoose saw a snake.That snake was coming towards little boy.The snake was attacked by the mongoose.Both of them were fighting.The Mongoose made the snake woundy .

The snake was lying on the floor.The little boy was now climbed on the cot and sat there.Mongoose came on front door of the house and it saw the farmer and his wife were coming towards home.It stayed there and waited for them.

When the farmer came near to his house,suddenly he saw some blood traces on mouth of the mongoose.He became mad with anger.He thought that the mongoose had just harmed his only son.He was just about to kill the mongoose.Then his wife stopped him and said that ,"We should not take any action while we are in anger.Because in anger ,we decide without thinking.If once a arrow is shot,then it will not come back.So just take a pause,firstly we will see our son .Is he all right or not.Then you can do whatever you want to do ."

Farmer gave heed to his wife's words.Both of them ,entered into the house.The mongoose was with them. They saw,their son was playing on the cot and one snake was lying near the cot.The snake was woundy. Farmer thanked his wife for her valuable advise. He said sorry to the mongoose and thanked to the mongoose.

Farmer gently lifted the woundy snake.His wife said ,"Just bury this reptile somewhere in ground."

Farmer replied ,"No ,I will leave it in forest .It is still alive.It is an important part of food chain. Snake was afraid of humans so that it was just going to attack on son in its defense. We human should learn to live with all creatures so that harmony in nature can be made."

Farmer left for forest.
