The Biggest Lesson Of My Life

There was once a woman whose name was Tatiana. She was telling her best friend; Sophia the story of her life, of how she became childless.

She was married to a man named Jack who loved her so much. They lived happily. The only thing that made them sad was that they didn't have any children.

They went from one hospital to the other yet nothing happened.

Luck smiled on them twenty years later; Tatiana gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. There was much rejoicing as they had a very big party, in which many people all over the world attended. Many people attended because Jack was an influential person.

Tragedy struck in their home; Jack traveled on an appointment, on the way, the airplane crashed and everyone died, not a single soul survived.

 When Tatiana heard the news, her world fell. She was now a widow.

She picked up the pieces of her life and moved on. Since she has no other children, she pampered her daughter whose name was Dorcas. She didn't admonish her when she did wrong, neither did she allow others to correct her.

Tatiana always thought her daughter was a small girl, and if she was beaten, she might also die.

When Dorcas was in college, she kept boyfriends and they go out to night club and indulge in other bad things which a girl of her age could not do. 

People warned Tatiana to caution Dorcas, but she ignored all of them. "After all, she needs to enjoy life." Tatiana usually says to herself.

One day, Dorcas fell ill. Tatiana, her mother took her to the hospital and for the shock of her life.

Dorcas was HIV positive, and it had advanced to AIDS.

Not only was she a carrier of AIDS, but she was pregnant, ectopic pregnancy for that matter. Dorcas didn't survive the operation, she died. But before she died, she cursed her mother for pampering her.

"That was how I became childless" She concluded. "Indeed, it was the biggest lesson of my life"
