The Balloon

The Balloon

It was just a balloon. But it showed me an entire picture of helpfulness and generosity.

Lali was crying. She was a girl of only five years. She came to the park regularly where I went to play with my friends in the evening. So we all knew each other very well.

That day also Lali came with her mother and began playing with a red coloured balloon. But with a blow of heavy wind, the balloon flew away and went up and up. Lali cried out for help. We all tried a lot but could not bring it.

Ultimately we tried to console her saying that it's just a mere balloon and told her to forget about it. Her mother bought another similar red balloon for her but she didn't stop crying at all.

We were helpless. My mind repeatedly uttered the name of my all-time favourite hero, 'Spider Man'. I thought that if he would have been here then certainly Lali could have been helped out.

To my great surprise, I saw someone jumping from tree to tree to catch the balloon. After sometime, to my utmost astonishment, Spiderman came with the balloon and Lali's face shone with pleasure. She embraced Spiderman and we all were completely happy.

Then Spiderman asked why Lali was not satisfied to get another balloon as this one, and her mother replied...

"Lali's father is a Colonel who comes home once in a year in Diwali. This year due to the dispute of maoists, he could not come. So Lali was sending this balloon to God as she believes that this will submit Lali's prayer to and the Almighty will solve the problem and her father would come soon. That's why she was worried." Spiderman assured them that he will deliver Lali's message to her father and would definitely try to solve the problem. So that her father returns home soon.

Everybody was happy to hear this and Lali started dancing happily.
