Teachers Day

Today as I sit watching the Teacher's Day program of my college, my thoughts get filled up with all the memories related to my teachers, my school, and the celebrations of Teachers' Day in school - making cards for my teachers, buying posies to present them a token of love and appreciation, wishing my teachers in an exuberant tone and a sweet smile, having both meaningful as well as funny conversations with them, constantly running after them to clarify my doubts, feeling disappointed with myself when I have let down their expectations, rising up from the rock bottom to achieve happiness and see it reflected in their eyes, bringing a sweet and proud smile to my teachers' faces, delivering speeches on Teachers' Day, dancing for the first and the last time in a school program on the last Teachers' Day of my school life, seeing their eyes full of blessings and hope on our the last day of school, feeling euphoric on meeting them again when I visit my Alma Mater...All of it just plays in front of my eyes as if I am reliving those moments...Thinking and yearning for more such memorable moments with my teachers...

Who says that a teacher's work is just to teach us from the books...It is much more than that...What matters most is the knowledge we gain and the experiences we have that help us grow, and find our way to happiness...

I think just saying 'Thank You' belittles their contributions...They deserve much more...

They are a part of my legacy...

I have discovered my passion, got the courage to follow my dreams, to explore, to make a choice for myself, to step up and speak out for what I believe in, to tear down the walls that I build around me and breathe in the fresh air of uniqueness, to be confident to follow an untrodden path, to learn for the sake of happiness and development - All because of my teachers...
