(Narrated by Diya)
Whenever I hear a school bell, my mind doesn’t go to classrooms or exams.
It goes back to class 8, to laughter, to noise, and to five faces that once meant my whole world.
We were six friends.
People called us troublemakers.
Teachers sighed when they saw us together.
But for me… we were home.
Let me tell you about them.
Let me tell you about us.

Niya was the bravest girl I have ever known.
She was multi-talented—karate, dance, everything.
She was fearless, independent mind, and spoke her heart without hesitation.
No one could dominate her.
For us, Niya was not just a friend—she was the strength of the group.

Fiza was beautiful, the kind of beauty that turned heads without effort.
Boys were always around her, lovers came and went.
But behind all that confidence, she was just a girl who feared only one person—her mother.
She was soft, emotional, and deeply caring.

Mannu was dependent, especially during exams and tests.
She needed us for everything and panicked easily.
She had a lot of anger, sometimes too much, but her heart was pure.
She loved us fiercely, even when she fought with us.

Pia was our entertainment system.
If there was silence, she broke it.
If there was sadness, she turned it into laughter.
She was the reason our class never felt boring.

Shalu was different from all of us.
Calm, quiet, and focused on studies.
She didn’t speak much, but her presence was peaceful.
She was the balance in our chaos.
And then there was me—Diya.
I was good at studies. I had brains.
But I stayed focused only until people and emotions entered my life.
With them, I learned something more important than books—friendship.
Class 8 was full of fun , naughtiness and laughter.
We irritated teachers, made noise, and broke rules.
But no matter how naughty we were, our results were always good.
That confused everyone.
Then one day, everything changed.
Niya left school.
No warning. No goodbye.
She just disappeared from our everyday life.
After that, our group slowly started breaking.
The laughter became less loud.
The benches felt empty.
Then class 9 started…
And suddenly, the government announced lockdown.
Schools closed.
Classes stopped.
The world paused.
Covid came and changed everything.
Our friendship moved from classrooms to mobile screens.
From meeting every day to chatting sometimes.
In between fear, isolation, and uncertainty, 10th also passed.
After that, life pulled us in different directions.
Different cities. Different dreams. Different struggles.
Today, when I look back, we are no longer a group.
We are memories.
Maybe it’s true—
After 10th, most friendships fade away.
But sometimes, late at night, I wonder…
Will we ever meet again?
Will that laughter ever return?
I don’t know the answer.
But I do know this—
Some friendships don’t stay in life forever.
They stay in the heart forever.
And I will always carry the story of six friends…
Because once, we were everything to each other. 💫
