Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement and motivation has infinite sources to kindle a powerful flame within us, followed by our perception.

Switching over to a new job after sailing smoothly at the cosy corner of my previous institution for more than a decade, was a mammoth challenge for me. Within a month I realized the pros and cons of embarking into a world of treasure. There is no doubt that this ‘knowledge village’ gave me innumerable opportunities to learn, explore and nurture my creativity but there was something which secretly fostered my anxiety and hopelessness on a regular basis. It was the herculean task to prove myself at every walk of life. The misconduct of over-smart children often triggered my confidence and palpitated my consternation. A moment came when I thought to go awol from the job as I was losing myself every jiff, every day. I met my mentor twice to get solace but this restless soul was not at peace.

Then, one day after class, I found an envelope lying on my desk. I found a short and sweet note in that by a student of mine. She wrote ‘Ma’am, you’re a warrior. Don’t resist’. This single note brought a transformation in my thought process. I pondered, realized and instantly reciprocated the programme of my capacity.

Now, I am an unfettered and unconfined bird with no perturbation, just a mindset of honest preparation and leave everything on Redeemer because RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, RESISTANCE IS STRESS and RESISTANCE IS BLOCKAGE TO LEARNING.

Besides, at times we may find a germinating seed motivating us by emerging out of the earth. As in my case, it was my student who inspired me.
